Student Scholarship

MetFDA Student Scholarship

Beginning in 2026, MetFDA Student members are eligible to apply for a scholarship to help with the cost of their mortuary science education. 

Eligibility requirements include:

  • Student membership in the Metropolitan Funeral Directors Association
  • Intention to serve residency and work with a New York funeral home within the five boroughs or Westchester County
  • Intention of working in New York as a licensed funeral director
  • At least a 3.0 GPA
  • As of August 2026, at least a 2nd semester Mortuary Science Student enrolled in one of the four NYS Mortuary Science Programs
